CARBURANE is a chromatographic data processing program for detailed petroleum hydrocarbon characterization which is operated in a Windows 95 or NT environment. It carries out automatic identification of capillary chromatograms in a temperature programmed mode, and various physical calculations based on analysis of all individual hydrocarbons.

IDENTIFICATION
Two types of identification methods are available:
  • Temperature programmed capillary chromatograms

    - by a reproducible index system with several reference peaks for example- gasoline applications with N-Paraffin C1-C15

    - the retention times of reference peaks are automatically updated with column bleeding and aging, this feature reduces operator tune-up time

    - the index system is flexible allowing for adjustments to the chromatographic conditions in order to use the reference index file on different Gas Chromatography systems, chromatograms, and commercial columns with the same characteristics.

Example: detailed analysis of gasoline (300 peaks) with normal paraffins as reference peaks.
  • Chromatograms up to 30 peaks
    - Due to non-linearity problems with oxygenated compounds by FID, it is necessary to properly quantify these hydrocarbons by approved ASTM methods, such D4815 or D3606, etc. CARBURANE can identify and quantify chromatograms produced by these methods, hence, making corrections for interferences and adjusted oxygenate values quite easy.
